Financial Accountant – 6 Month FTC

Location: Leeds, UK

This is a 6-month fixed term contract role and will require the successful candidate to be based at our Leeds office twice a week (usually Tuesdays and Thursdays).

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare period-end journals and support month-end close activities
  • Deliver analysis and commentary on key account balances
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations in line with audit requirements
  • Manage weekly and monthly bank reconciliations, including FX revaluations
  • Produce cost centre reports and financial insights for functional leaders
  • Support year-end statutory accounts and audit processes
  • Assist with corporation tax and VAT submissions, ensuring HMRC compliance
  • Work closely with the payroll team to ensure accurate preparation of month-end payroll journals and compliance with employment tax requirements.
  • Manage intercompany accounting, including recharge calculations and loans
  • Support cash flow forecasting and financial planning activities
  • Provide support on ad-hoc reporting, analysis, and technical accounting queries

 

About You
  • Professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or AAT)
  • Strong experience in financial accounting within a group environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • SAP experience essential
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • A proactive, self-motivated team player with a flexible approach
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Comfortable working with high volumes of data and complex financial information
