Senior Accountant
Location: Greater Philadelphia (USA)
This is a hybrid role which requires the successful candidate to be in the office at least 3 times a week. The office will be in the Philadelphia/New Jersey area, but the exact location is still to be confirmed.
Key Responsibilities
- Support month-end reporting packages for actuals, ensuring outputs are accurate, complete, and aligned to close timelines
- Support the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
- Own key areas of pharmaceutical revenue accounting (gross-to-net, rebates, chargebacks, returns, and accruals)
- Manage treasury activities including payment processing, cash monitoring, and bank reconciliations
- Support audits, compliance activities, and process improvement initiatives
- Drive efficiencies through improved reporting, automation, and data quality enhancements
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; professional qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA)
- Significant experience in accounting or financial reporting, ideally within pharmaceuticals, biotech, or life sciences
- Strong understanding of monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes
- Proven experience of pharmaceutical revenue accounting (gross-to-net) and treasury operations
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (SAP S/4HANA desirable)
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate data into insight
- High attention to detail, strong controls awareness, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel within the US (Philadelphia Area) and UK as required
