Senior Legal Counsel – US
Location, US based.
What you will be doing
- Lead legal support for US market launches and commercial operations, including drafting and negotiating supply terms, licensing, distribution, 3PL and wholesaler agreements.
- Advise US commercial and sales teams on a wide range of agreements, including co‑pay, consultancy, service, marketing and HCP agreements.
- Provide legal support on strategic transactions, including M&A and in‑licensing opportunities.
- Deliver corporate legal support, ensuring timely state filings, registrations and ongoing compliance.
- Partner with the US leadership team, working closely with the General Counsel to provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice.
- Support wider UK and Rest of World activities as required, including contract drafting, review and negotiation.
- Manage litigation support when required, in collaboration with the General Counsel.
- Drive compliance across the US organisation, including policy development and delivery of legal and compliance training.
- Proactively build cross‑functional relationships and help embed strong governance and ethical behaviours across the business .
What you will bring
- Qualified US lawyer with a minimum of 4 years’ PQE and at least 4 years’ experience within the pharmaceutical or life sciences sector.
- Strong background in commercial and corporate law, with deep experience in complex contract negotiation and cross‑border arrangements.
- Proven experience managing external counsel and working across multiple jurisdictions.
- Pharma sector experience is essential, with exposure to generics or 505(b)(2) filings highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to partner effectively with senior, multidisciplinary stakeholders.
- Collaborative, proactive and comfortable working in a fast‑growing, international environment.
