Business Development Manager: Out-Licensing
Location: Remote, UK based
(frequent travel to Leeds and ability to travel internationally as required).
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement out-licensing strategies aligned with corporate objectives.
- Conduct market research to identify potential partners and assess competitive landscape.
- Evaluate product portfolio for out-licensing opportunities based on market demand and regulatory considerations.
- Identify and engage potential licensing partners globally.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events, and partner meetings.
- Lead negotiations for out-licensing agreements, including financial terms, milestones, and royalties.
- Collaborate with legal, regulatory, and technical teams to ensure compliance and successful deal closure.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to prospective partners.
- Conduct valuation and financial modelling for licensing deals.
- Monitor performance of out-licensed products and ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Work closely with R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and Marketing teams to align licensing strategies with product development.
- Provide input on product lifecycle management and commercialization plans.
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical business development, licensing, or strategic partnerships.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical product development, regulatory pathways, and market dynamics.
- Proven track record of negotiating and closing out-licensing deals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
