Group Tax Manager

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage Corporate tax compliance for the UK Group managing the relationship with all workstreams associated with delivery of the final computations and submissions including but not limited to Interest deductibility provisions/RDEC/Patent Box.
• Manage Corporate tax compliance for the US Group and all associated workstreams.
• Lead on Group transfer pricing policy and application and governance of this across the UK and wider Group.
• Prepare all monthly and ad hoc reporting associated with the corporate tax provisions of the UK entity and workbooks to support including all year end provisions for statutory accounts and audit.
• Management and mitigation where required of all tax risks across the Group.
• Maximise available reliefs/exemptions and incentives across the Group to optimise the tax strategy and savings
• Support the wider business by providing technical tax support and expertise, ensuring that all relevant tax legislation is understood and communicated effectively.
• Business partner with staff in across the Group, keeping abreast of changes in activities in order to provide advice on any associated tax implications.
• Develop and maintain expert knowledge of indirect taxes relating to International Groups operating in both imports/exports of products ensuring integrity and accuracy of submissions are to the highest quality and supportable with the relevant tax authorities.
• Manage Employment tax agenda and associated filings ensuring all payments and submissions are made on time and are accurate and supportable including but not limited to, ERS, P11ds and PSA reporting.
• Manage Global Mobility agenda for the Group alongside HR ensuring operation of all non UK payrolls are administered correctly and associated tax filings are up to date and accurate.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with external advisors, HMRC and auditors.
• Lead on the continuous development of the Group’s tax strategy, processes and systems to ensure fit for purpose and future proofed for growth.
• Support the integration of business acquisitions, dispositions and restructurings.
• Perform technical research and preparation of written technical correspondence or memoranda as required.
• Manage tax audits and enquiries and all associated correspondence with authorities related to such matters should they arise.

• Undertakes such other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time to support the department and business activities.
• Acknowledge responsibility to ensure an effective Quality Management System in order to achieve Quality Objectives.

Competencies

  • Fully qualified Tax professional CTA/ACA or equivalent qualification.
  • Significant experience in corporate tax specifically transfer pricing and group structures.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate tax and its application to Group companies.
  • Competent, conscientious, self-motivated, enthusiastic, and flexible.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently across multiple teams, an excellent Team Player.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a logical manner with high volumes of data.
  • Tenacious attitude with a proactive approach and able to work independently.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel Skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written.
  • Previous track record of working to deadlines and being a self-motivated.
  • The ability to prioritise and change priorities at short notice.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Typical Years of Experience- 3 years PQE minimum.
  • Minimum Expected Education- CTA (or equivalent qualification).
  • Additional Information- Experience of using large ERP systems .Experience of working with manufacturing clients. Experience of International Groups. Experience of Private Equity backed Groups.
