Assistant Financial Accountant
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Preparation of period end journals for reporting entities
- Preparation of analysis and commentary and key account balances for assistance with period end close
- Preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual balance sheet reconciliations in line with internal and external reporting requirements ensuring fit for auditing purposes
- Weekly and monthly bank reconciliations including period end foreign currency retranslations
- Preparation and delivery of cost center decks for reporting to heads of functions to required timescales including commentary on actuals and analysis trackers
- Assist with year-end statutory account and audit process
- Assist with corporation tax computations and associated analysis for external tax advisors
- Assist with preparation of quarterly VAT returns for the Group and trading entities including compliance with all relevant HMRC requirements and payments
- Completion of confirmation statements for group entities ensuring full compliance with Companies House filing requirements
- Assistance with employment tax related matters – P11Ds and PSA reporting
- Support with weekly short term cash flow reporting preparation
- Support with ad-hoc monthly and quarterly reporting
- Support with ad-hoc technical and accounting queries
- Undertakes such other reasonable duties as may be required from time to time to support the department and business activities.
- Acknowledge responsibility to ensure an effective Quality Management System in order to achieve Quality Objectives.

Knowledge and Experience
- Typical Years of Experience- Minimum 2 years in a similar accountancy focused role
- Minimum Expected Education-Part qualified (ACA, ACCA),A levels or similar equivalent
- Additional Information -SAP knowledge preferred but not essential, Strong verbal and numerical skills, Competent with excel and large volumes of data.
