Warehouse Supervisor
The role will have responsibility for providing direction and support to Warehouse Team Leaders and Operatives within the team and will have responsibility for the efficiency and effectiveness of the team ensuring products are distributed within strict timelines.
Leading and motivating the team, providing direction and support for the team to achieve operational success and providing opportunities to enhance skills and productivity. Daily management of the team including managing performance, attendance and training.
The role is a hands-on position and the supervisor will be expected to work as part of the Warehouse team ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and current good Distribution.
Supervise warehouse Team, processes and systems in order to ensure products are received, returned and dispatched appropriately, and that customer contract targets are met. Responsible for maintaining warehouse health and safety standards and for the security of the warehouse area and stock. Supervise, motivate, develop and organise warehouse team.
• Supervise daily activities of the warehouse, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, floor productivity, dispatch, and customer service.
• Manage warehouse area setup and layout, always ensuring efficient use of space.
• Ensure warehouse is clean, organised and audit ready.
• Ensure that the warehouse team picks products and places in the allotted area in line with the scheduled orders by agreed time.
• Work with the Customer Service Team to help ensure that deliveries are achieved.
• Ensure that the warehouse team load all orders correctly.
• Work alongside Demand Planning to ensure that important orders are prioritised, picked accurately and on time.
• Run an ‘orders due’ report each morning for warehouse team and check off received deliveries as they arrive.
• Supervise the team to ensure that all stock deliveries are quality checked and booked onto the system, raising any discrepancies with planning as soon as possible.
• Supervise the team to ensure that all stock items are coded up and booked in before being put away.
• Supervise the team to ensure all delivery notes are signed, dated and filed in line with
• company procedure.
• Ensure any returns or damages are quarantined in line with company policy and procedure.
• Complete periodic spot counts.
• Ensure that warehouse staff are fully trained and conversant in health and safety requirements.
• Achieve all related conditions, targets, and commitments set out by the business.
• Be flexible, positive and innovative and shape the job in light of changing business
• developments.
• Oversee and implement health and safety policies and procedures within the warehouse.
• Lead by example to demonstrate a culture in which people can do extraordinary things.
• Hold regular warehouse team meetings to keep the team updated and to get feedback.
• Performs Daily SAP Transactions.
• Completes batch documentation reviews and calculation checks.
• Realtime documentation checks for completeness following the principles of ALCOA++.
• Day-to-day planning of Operator activities.
• Ensuring areas of control are always audit ready
