Engineering Manager
Reporting Lines
The Engineering Manager reports to the Manufacturing Director.
Main Function/Responsibilities of the Job
People: o Both direct and dotted line responsibility for the management and development of engineering staff (6) representing engineering at departmental and site forums.
Cost: o Cost management through budgeting, forecasting and effective control processes.
Functional Standards and Systems: o Take responsibility for the development and maintenance of engineering systems and processes: Planned preventative maintenance - quality system Engineering drawings - quality system Calibration standards - quality system
Compliance: o Leadership to develop systems and processes to ensure both facilities and manufacturing areas are maintained in compliance with regulatory requirements such as: Pharmaceutical Industry Regulators: Food and Drugs Administration & Medicines and Health Regulatory Authority Safety and Environmental: CoSHH, Electrical Regulations, Manual handling, Display screen, etc.
Facilities & Manufacturing Support: o General facilities management and provide both planned and unplanned maintenance support in line with business and customer requirements, taking an active part in weekly performance and monthly S&OP cycle.
Improvement: o Leadership of implementing modern manufacturing practice, eg. Lean and Six-Sigma. o Ability to implement best practice initiatives to best suit the organisations needs for the future. o Create a culture of improvement and customer value, which spans functional boundaries.
Project Management: o Manage projects and contractors delivering services both across the site and within the manufacturing.
In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the jobholder is required to perform other duties assigned by your Manager from time to time.
